Kid-Friendly AND Allergy-Friendly Restaurants? You got it!

A few weeks ago, OpenTable came out with their list of the 50 Most Kid-Friendly Restaurants in America for 2019. Like similar “top lists” that AllergyEats publishes in this blog, OpenTable’s list was derived from their huge base of user reviews. As I scrolled down the list, I recognized a lot of familiar names from my work here at AllergyEats.

While food allergies are certainly not just a kid problem (affecting more adults than kids, in fact), we are often asked on social media for allergy-friendly AND kid-friendly restaurants across America. So, we took the restaurants from OpenTable’s list of the most kid-friendly and ran them through the AllergyEats database to come up with…

The 10 Highest-Rated Kid-Friendly, Allergy-Friendly Restaurants in America

[Note that this was not a joint effort between OpenTable and AllergyEats; thus, the lack of a title with the words “Top 10” or “per OpenTable and AllergyEats”.]

Interestingly, the top 10 included 5 small-medium chains and 5 individual restaurants (some are independent and some are part of a chain). OpenTable didn’t offer any specific ratings, so we won’t either – but our list is in order of allergy-friendliness.

Here it is:

The Boathouse (Lake Buena Vista, FL)

Maggiano’s (52 locations nationwide)

The Smith – Lincoln Square (New York, NY)

Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant (Hilton Head, SC)

House of Blues Restaurant & Bar – Orlando (Lake Buena Vista, FL)

Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Restaurant (Frankenmuth, MI)

Rainforest Café (19 locations nationwide)

Benihana (89 locations nationwide)

Bill’s Bar and Burger (7 units in IL, LA, NJ, NY, PA, and TX)

Carmine’s (5 units in DC, NYC, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas)

Of course, there are tons of other kid-friendly and allergy-friendly restaurants in America, but only these made OpenTable’s top kid-friendly list and had outstanding AllergyEats allergy-friendliness scores.

So who did we miss? What are your go-to restaurants that your kid loves and can accommodate allergies? Have you rated them on AllergyEats yet? 😉

Did You Know? AllergyEats has a partnership with OpenTable whereby AllergyEats’ users can book OpenTable reservations at over 10,000 restaurants across the United States. Look for the OpenTable logo in your AllergyEats search results listings.

My little girl has a dairy, gluten, egg and peanut allergy and she has been able to eat safely at Chick-fil-A for a few years already. She always get the fries and grilled nuggets because those don’t contain any of those allergens.

Our go-to is Blaze Pizza. My daughter is gluten free and I am allergic to cow dairy. They are always respectful of our allergies and use separate cutters. The kids love it too.

Many Red Robin’s, like the one at Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA are extremely kid friendly. This one always has kids, who can get loud and crazy like my bunch and the wait staff are great with them!!
